All the animations I was tasked to produce for my Motion Design elective in my final year of studies. The first assignment we were tasked to take one character and have it emote in four different emotions. These emotions being Happy, Angry, Sad and Nervous. For our second assignment, we needed to produce a walk cycle that could loop in on itself, and it had to portray a certain emotion or performance. I decided to have my character nervously creep around, as if they were in an abandoned mansion, I also added some slight sounds to elevate the setting. Finally for our third assignment, we were asked to create a monologue from a film using the provided character, this isn't my best due to deadlines and other projects, but I had fun animating it nonetheless.
Our first class exercise was a simple jump animation, it had to be performative in some way, so I decided to have the character bump their head on the platform and for the platform itself to fall down. Our second class exercise was a simple task to have a character switch between a few emotions in succession. So I had the character start in neutral, quickly switch to happy, followed by shock and then switch back to neutral. I also made it loop-able just for fun.
All the animations were produced in Adobe's After Effects, and all the artwork and rigs were provided from the Open Window Institute.
The audio clip used for the Monologue Animation, was taken from the film Joker (2019).
